Short Biography

Dr. Wei He received the B.Eng. and M.Eng. degrees in automation science and engineering from the South China University of Technology, Guangzhou, China, in 2006 and 2008, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National University of Singapore, Singapore, in 2011.

Dr. He is currently working as a Full Professor and the dean with the School of Intelligence Science and Technology and the Institute of Artificial Intelligence, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Beijing, China. He has co-authored four books published in Springer and over 400 international journal and conference papers, with more than 23,000 times citations and h-index 83 shown by Google Scholar, where 43 papers are selected into the list of Highly Cited Papers by Clarivate Analytics. From 2019-2023, he was selected as one of the Global Highly Cited Researchers by Clarivate Analytics in the areas of both Engineering and Computer Science. His current research interests include robotics, distributed parameter systems, and intelligent control systems.

Dr He was a recipient of the IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society Andrew P. Sage Best Transactions Paper Award. He was awarded a Newton Advanced Fellowship from the Royal Society, U.K. He is serving as the Chair of IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society Beijing Capital Region Chapter. Since 2018, he has been the founding Chair of Technical Committee on Autonomous Bionic Robotic Aircraft, IEEE Systems, Man and Cybernetics Society. He is serving as an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Robotics, IEEE Transactions on Automation Science and Engineering, IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems, IEEE Transactions on Control Systems Technology, IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics: Systems.
